How is marine automation different from home automation?

The user experience may feel similar, but vessels introduce restricted space, vibration, moisture, salt, variable power, changing internet services, crew roles, class requirements, and difficult service logistics. Equipment and system architecture must reflect that operating environment.

Can an older yacht's control system be upgraded?

Yes, after a detailed survey. We document existing wiring, equipment, software access, interfaces, electrical constraints, and finish conditions. A phased migration may preserve useful infrastructure while replacing unsupported control and distribution components.

How does streaming work offshore?

Streaming quality follows the active shore, cellular, or satellite connection, its coverage, congestion, plan, and data policy. We can manage available links and provide local media options, but no onboard network can create bandwidth that the external service does not supply.

Can crew manage the system separately from guests?

Yes. Interfaces and permissions can expose simplified room functions to guests while giving crew access to broader status, source, reset, and operational tools. Responsibilities are established with the captain and vessel team.

How is the system supported while traveling?

Remote diagnostics, secure access, detailed documentation, configuration backups, onboard spares, and crew training form the first line of support. When hands-on service is required, good records help us coordinate effectively with qualified technicians near the vessel.
