AVgator at the Charlotte Home Show, October 24–25, 2026.

At this year’s Charlotte Home Show, we talked with visitors about what it takes to bring a technology project to life—from an initial idea to a completed system, with support after installation.

On October 24–25, 2026, AVgator took part in the Charlotte Home Show at the Park Expo and Conference Center, 800 Briar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28205. We brought touch panels, an interactive presentation of our work, and a team ready to talk through the ideas behind integrated spaces.

Over the weekend, visitors got to meet the people behind AVgator, explore our projects, and learn how we approach technology from the first design conversation through everyday use.

AVS-10 Touch Panels, Up Close

At our booth, we demonstrated a 3D user interface running on the AVS-10 touchscreen panel. Visitors could explore a visual model of an apartment and see how home controls relate to the rooms and spaces they use every day.

The demo brought together room navigation, lighting controls, TV control, and motorized blinds in one interface. The 3D view gave visitors a spatial way to explore the apartment, while the touchscreen controls showed how everyday interactions could be organized around it.

From the First Idea to Ongoing Support

Using examples from our projects around the world, we walked visitors through how a project comes together—from understanding a client’s ideas and daily needs to designing, building, and supporting the finished system.

We explained how those first conversations become system designs, engineering drawings, and an installation plan. We discussed coordination with architects, builders, and other trades, followed by installation, programming, testing, and commissioning. Project drawings and documentation helped us show what happens at each stage and how the work fits together.

We also talked about what happens after handover: helping clients get comfortable with their systems, providing technical support and maintenance, and adapting the technology as their needs change. Our goal was to give visitors a clear picture of the complete working relationship, from the first discussion through ongoing care.

The People and Process Behind the Technology

We shared information about our team, our experience, and how we work with clients and project partners. The four stages displayed across our booth—Design, Build, Launch, Operate—gave those conversations a practical starting point.

  • Design: understand the goals, plan the systems, and coordinate the infrastructure.
  • Build: bring the design into the space through installation and integration.
  • Launch: program, test, and commission the systems for use.
  • Operate: support the technology as the space and its needs evolve.

For someone considering a new home or renovation, understanding that process is part of understanding the investment. The equipment is one piece of a project; planning, coordination, and ongoing care matter too.

New Clients and Local Connections

The weekend brought us new clients and the opportunity to begin discussing their projects. We look forward to taking those conversations further and turning ideas into clear next steps.

We also got to know our neighboring exhibitors and discussed plans for future collaboration. Meeting other local businesses was a valuable part of the show, opening conversations about how our work could complement theirs on upcoming projects.
